Flying On My Own

I mentioned in last week’s blog post about achieving another personal goal on the 17th-18th October flying to Copenhagen on my own.

Now, I am not really a fan of flying. I tend to get very nervous and don’t particularly like all the sounds on the plane. It is so surreal to think up until this year I put off going abroad because of my stomas and regular septic admissions and now I have been abroad quite a few times. I am sat here on a windy, wet Saturday (22nd September) in my quirky flat reminiscing on the last 2 weeks! It has been absolutely incredible and a rollercoaster of emotions! Last year I went to my first ever Purple Wings Charity Day conference and ball and it blew me away! I had never been to an event like this before with other ostomates and I remember feeling a full range of emotions! On the 19th July, the Public Health England (PHE) launched a national 'Be Clear on Cancer - Blood in Pee Campaign' which highlights blood in pee as a key symptom of bladder and kidney cancers. This campaign will run until the 23rd of September 2018 and will include numerous campaign activities.
